Mateo one week old

Look at those long legs.

Mateo sleeping

We had Mateo's 10 day check up today. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces. He gained 5 ounces in 5 days but our doctor said he should be back to his birth weight by now. So we will be sure to wake him up every 2 hours to eat so he can gain some more weight. We go back in a week for another weight check. What can I say our little man likes to sleep.

New pics of Mateo

Kaden did not like the swing. I am glad that Mateo likes it since it was never used before.

Proud Big Sister: note her big sister shirt

What an angel.

Proud Daddy with Mateo

Who is Who

I have been looking at pictures of Kaden as a newborn and she and Mateo look so much alike. These two pictures do not give the similarities justice. The colors give away who is who: Mateo is first and then Kaden.

Mateo Hadley Biamby is here!

Mateo Hadley Biamby was born on October 16th at 8:53pm. He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long.

I was induced at 11am on October 16th. Mateo was a breech baby until week 36 and apparently he did not completely turn and he was considered oblique (which means he was at an angle and was more to the side). We went ahead with labor hoping that he would center himself. At 1pm my doctor broke my water and I took an epidural. Throughout my labor Mateo's heart beat would drop occasionally during the contractions, which meant he wasn't handling the contractions very well. At 7pm I had not made any progress since 1pm and Mateo had not centered himself so we had to change birth plans and have a c-section. After having experienced both delivery methods, I can not understand why anyone chooses to have a c-section (sorry if I offended anyone). I had a reaction to the anesthesia and could not stop shaking through the entire procedure and through most of the recovery. The gas pain is just about unbearable after the surgery and it is hard to do just about anything. But the important thing is that we are both safe and healthy.
We got home on Sunday afternoon and we are doing well. I will post more later.

Baby Update

I went to the doctor this morning and he sent me once again to the hospital to run the same tests again. They once again came back fine. So we picked a date to induce labor. We will be going back to the hospital on Thursday, October 16th at 7am to induce labor. This works out perfect for us since my mom will be here on Wednesday evening. I was in labor with Kaden for 10 hours (her labor was induced as well) so we are hoping for it to be about the same time or shorter!

In other news this weekend we had a very nice baby shower. I will post pictures later. Kaden has been sick with a cold and she has more teeth coming in! I can't believe it. It looks like it could be 3 more coming at once.

Update on Hadley

Well I have had quite a week and it is only Wednesday. Yesterday I went to the doctor and he thought my blood pressure was too high so he sent me to the hospital for blood work and a NST (non-stress test). Everything looked good and my blood pressure was fine so I got to go home 5 hours after I got to the hospital. The baby is fine and he decided to turn around so he is no longer breech! My doctor wants to induce labor on Monday but I asked if we could wait till Thursday when my mom will be here. This all depends on my blood pressure so please pray that the doctor likes what he sees on Monday.
Yesterday I started having a toothache and today it was so bad that I had to go to the dentist. My wisdom tooth is infected (this happened to me at the beginning of the pregnancy) so I am on antibotics and can't wait to be pain free. I have to have my wisdom teeth pulled, which I knew, but my doctor did not want me to do this while I was pregnant. I almsot made it through the pregnancy without any more problems.

Go Miami Dolphins!

Kaden helped Daddy cheer the Dolphins to a win over the Chargers on Sunday. Go Dolphins!

10 months old

It is hard to believe that Kaden is 10 months old now. She is becoming quite the little girl. She wants to walk so bad and we are working on this with her.
Words Kaden can say: wow, oh oh, dada, mama, baby
She now waves bye bye (she did this earlier and then decided she didn't want to do it anymore) and she claps her hands.
Kaden is growing so fast it is amazing. Soon she will have her baby brother to play with.

Kaden's time with Daddy

Kaden enjoying pizza with Daddy while Mommy was in the hospital last week.

Kaden loves her walker. She bulldozes through the house in this thing and is fast too. I love to watch her go after the dogs, it is so funny!
Sleeping Beauty. Usually Kaden naps on the way home from daycare. I guess she has so much fun she is worn out by the time we pick her up.

Gilbert sent me these pictures while I was in the hospital so I could see Kaden. What a thoughtful husband!

Update on bed rest

I am still hanging in there at home on bed rest. I have watched more TV than I have in a long time. Thank goodness the new shows have started back. I have been recording them at night and watching them during the day to stay occupied. I am also reading a great book, The Choice by Nicholas Sparks.
I go to the doctor tomorrow for a check up. I hope my blood pressure is okay. I am certainly not ready to be sent to the hospital to have the baby. I forgot to mention before that the baby is breech. I hope that he will turn himself around. I have no interest in having a C-Section for several reasons. The number one reason being I can't drive for a certain period afterwards and I will not be able to lift Kaden. This will be very hard on myself and Gilbert, so we are praying that the baby turns before I need to have him.
For those who are curious we did have a boy name picked from the beginning. So when the surprise came at least we did not have to go through the entire name selection again. The name we picked is
Mateo Hadley Biamby

Ultrasound Pictures

This is a picture of his face with his hand on the right. We can tell he is going to have chubby cheeks.

The last two are profile pictures of his face.

These are ultrasound pictures that were done a week ago when I went to the doctor. I'm still at home on bed rest. For those that know me well, you know how hard it is for me to sit around and do nothing. I'm trying to keep my sanity and count down the days until I hit 37 weeks. I have 2 more weeks to go. I hope I don't go crazy in the mean time.

Scary

I am at home now on bed rest. So today I have been surfing the Internet. I was looking something up with baby #2's due date. Look what I found below.

Your baby will start kindergarten in 2014, be old enough to drive a car in 2024, finish high school in 2027, and will graduate from college with the class of 2031, give or take a year. Can you imagine?

That is a scary thought!

Shocking News: We are having a BOY not a girl!

A lot has happened this week, I am going to do my best to catch everyone up to speed. My blood pressure started to get to high so I was transferred to a new doctor. I went to my new doctor on Monday morning and my blood pressure was pretty high. They did an ultrasound while I was there to make sure the baby was ok, which the baby was and is ok. This is when I got some shocking news. We found out the baby is a BOY. In our ultrasound before (at 19 weeks) we were told we were having a girl so we had prepared ourselves for a girl. I had gotten all of Kaden's clothes out and sorted them by size for this baby. Now at 34 weeks we find out we are having a boy, and we have NO CLOTHES for this baby. I had already sent out girl baby shower invitations and registered as if we were having a girl. I have already started fixing the registry and we will have to make sure everyone knows our big news.

Now to get to my blood pressure. The doctor sent me to the hospital for observation on Monday from his office. After waiting for ever at the hospital, I was finally seen and they ran some tests. He decided to keep me over night which turned into 2 nights. Right now it seems that I just have high blood pressure and not preeclampsia like I had with Kaden. However, because it is so high the doctor said I will not be able to carry the baby to full term. I received 2 steroid shots to help develop the babies lungs faster since he will be born early. Now the goal is for me to make it to 37 weeks. I am on strict bed rest now and will remain on bed rest until I deliver. I am still at the hospital hoping to go home today. I am going crazy here. This is the first time that I have been away from Kaden and I'm dying to see her and be at home. The doctor is waiting on one last test result to decide if I can go home. Once I see him today he told me that we would make a plan of action. I will be sure to keep everyone updated. The good news is that since I have been on bed rest here at the hospital my blood pressure went down and is considered good right now and this was without medication!

9 month check up

Kaden went to the doctor yesterday for her 9 month check up. She had a good check up, the doctor said she is a very healthy baby.
Below are her stats:
weight: 21 pounds 14 ounces
height: 28.5 inches
Kaden has been a very busy girl this month. She is working on 4 teeth at once! Yikes! Two on the bottom have already come in on either side of the middle 2. You can see them in the picture above. Her top 2 teeth are breaking the gum on the top.
I can tell Kaden really wants to walk on her own. She will pull herself up and then let go and try to walk but she just can't do it yet.

NC State Fan at Heart

Even though we can't see many NC State games here in Miami we still are cheering them on. Hopefully we have a better rest of the season, since our start has not been that great.

Pics at 9 months

Now that Kaden is 9 months old she thinks she is a grown up!
Kaden helping Mommy and Daddy grocery shop.

Sorry this is blurry. We were trying to show off her 2 new teeth. She got 2 teeth at the same time which was a nightmare: one on either side of the 2 in the middle on the bottom. Now Kaden has 4 teeth. All on the bottom!

Kaden's favorite toy: a balloon

I am too cute and I know it.

Maddie thought she would see if Kaden had a dirty diaper.

Now Kaden only wants to be on the floor so she can crawl and pull up on things.

I did it!

Now it is time to relax and take my bottle.

First ER Visit

Last Wednesday Kaden had her first trip to the ER. I received a phone call from day care about 3:30 saying Kaden had a fever of 106. Of course this made me panic. Her pediatrician told me to go to the ER. When I got to the daycare, Kaden's hair was soaking wet from sweat and she looked like she felt horrible. I made sure to ask the day care 3 times are you sure it said 106, because I had a hard time believing it was this high. They reconfirmed the temperature. So I did not want to take any chances, off to the ER we went. They ran several tests to see what could have caused the her temperature to get this high. I am not sure if the drawing of the blood, taking a urine sample, and the taking snot sample was more traumatic for me or Kaden. I had to hold back tears while I watched my poor baby scream. Thankfully all the tests came back negative. When we left the hospital her temperature was 101 and two days later the fever was completely gone. I am still not sure that her temperature was that high but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Pregnancy Pic

I realized I have not put any pictures up from this pregnancy. This is me at 28 weeks.
