Kaden took pictures at school and I just got them. They turned out really good!

5 month update

Kaden has been growing so fast recently. Below are Kaden's achievements as of 5 months:

Kaden has her first tooth!!! It just barely broke the skin but it is there. I was so surprised when she was sucking on my finger and all of a sudden there was something sharp there.

Kaden has found her feet. She loves to hold them and play with them. I will try to get a picture of this. She especially loves to kick the wall while on the changing table and hold her leg while doing so.

She is now able to sit up for a good 5-10 seconds on her own before she leans to one side.

She loves to eat her fruits and vegetables.

She loves to jump in her exersaucer.

Dolphin Draft Party

Gilbert's birthdat always is close to the NFL Draft. This year we decided to go to Dolphin Stadium for a draft party. We had a nice time and there were a lot of fun activities.

Big Sister

Hello everyone! I wanted to tell everyone that I am excited that I am going to be a big sister. Mommy is pregnant. My little brother or sister is due on November 9. I am looking forward to having a playmate soon.

Mommy said she is tired with work, taking care of me, and being pregnant all at the same time. Mommy did tell me that she is feeling much better now that she is in her last week of the first trimester.

4 month update

This post is long over due. We went to the doctor a while ago for Kaden's 4 month check up. The doctor said Kaden is a big healthy baby.

Weight: 16 pounds 10 ounces

Height: 25 inches

We started solids this month. Kaden started eating rice cereal at the beginning of the month. She did well but now I have tried to introduce vegetable baby food. Kaden now will not open her mouth at all for the food. I have tried mixing the veggies with rice cereal and I have tried different vegetables and her mouth is clamped shut. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions. For now we are going to take a break for a week and try again.

New tricks Kaden has:

She is talking more and more

Sucks her thumb constantly

Grabs everything she can reach

Can sit up alone for a brief second or two

Kaden has noticed the dogs. She stares at them constantly when they come near her.

And today she rolled over for the first time with her thumb in her mouth the entire time

First trip to the pool

Today we went to the pool for the first time. Kaden enjoyed it! She looked so cute in her bathing suit.

Kaden's first time eating solids

Kaden did well for her first time eating with a spoon. Last week we started Kaden on rice cereal. She seems to do ok with it. Each day she is eating more. She does make a mess when she eats though.

Sick

Kaden has been sick this weekend. She has a nasty cold. Last night we had a pretty bad night. Today I stayed home with Kaden and I hope that she is feeling better by tonight!

Update

Kaden is already helping me cook.
Kaden recently found her thumb. Now she is always sucking on her thumb.


We have a thumb sucker.

I came downstairs to find Random in our dirty clothes hamper.

Kaden is getting so big. We go for her 4 month check up on April 15th. I wonder how much she weighs now. She wears her 6 month clothes now.

Kaden now likes to help hold her bottle when she is eating. She can hold the smaller bottles on her own but needs help with the bigger ones.

Don't worry we don't leave her unattended in the Bumbo seat. I know it is not supposed to be on the counter but I dare not put her in the seat on the floor. The dogs would lick her up and down if I did that.

Busy Busy

I have found that I don't have time to do much since I have been working in the office again. We are super busy. I can't wait for things to calm down. So I apologize for my lack of posts. We are doing good. Not much is going on right now other than we are trying to go to the beach soon with Kaden.

Day Care

Well when I got back from NC I was able to find a daycare for Kaden. It is at a church about half way between my house and work. I started back to work only half day and I have been staying an hour longer each day working up to a full day on Friday.

Our first day Kaden cried. I nursed her at the daycare and when I left she was a lot happier. She is doing well, the teachers love her and she seems to like them too.

I am doing okay. I am actually handling it better than I thought I would. No one likes leaving their three month old in day care. But this is good, Kaden likes it, I get my work done, and then we can enjoy our time together in the evenings and weekends.

I am pumping at work so Kaden has food for the next day but I am finding that my milk supply seems low when I pump. Does anyone have suggestions?

Trip to NC

Kaden and I had a wonderful trip to NC. She did very well on the airplane. Both of our flights had delays. On our way to NC we had to sit in the plane while they changed the tires because one tire was flat. On our way back to FL we had to sit in the plane because of lightening. Then when we got to FL we were told all flights were being rerouted. So we spent some extra time circling, at one point the pilot told us we were over the Bahamas. Come to find out a lot of Florida was in a blackout. Crazy! Anyways back to how Kaden did. The first flight she slept the whole time and coming back she was awake most of the time but not fussy.

Kaden got to see her Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and cousins. That is the first time my family has seen Kaden, expect for my mom.

I was worried about Kaden's sleep patterns getting messed up. The trip was kinda long for her so we had to do some adjusting but we are glad we went.
