It was very hard to get everyone to pay attention. Here is the best picture we took.

Christmas time

Maddy is hiding from the Christmas tree. She was scared of it when we first brought it in the house. Now she has no problem getting near the tree even though she not suppossed to.

I love my Santa in the canoe and just had to share it with everyone.

Please note the Dolphins Nutcracker.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year I fixed the turkey alone for the first time. It turned out to be delicious. We had a great day relaxing and watching football. Our team won, Go Dolphins! Then we went to have dinner with Gilbert's family. We had a wonderful time.

Random and Maddy spent the weekend running all over the house playing. They have become great friends and are wearing Gilbert and I out.

Left Behind

Those that know me very well, know that I love Christmas time and love to decorate. I always put my decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving and have been told this is a bit early. However, this year as I drive around I see that a lot (and I am not exaggerating) of people have already decorated. Christmas lights on their house, trees up, the whole she-bang! Last night I saw that my neighbor had her tree up and get this: she had already wrapped gifts and put them under the tree. So I am asking myself, what is going on? It seems that everyone is skipping Thanksgiving this year. I feel the pressure to decorate for Christmas now. Last night I had to fight the urge to buy a Christmas tree on the way home from work. I have been left behind. So to all of those that make fun of me for decorating early, this year I am behind schedule.

Christmas Came Early This Year!

Christmas came early this year for me. Gilbert and I have been talking about getting another dog for a long time now. I know that you are thinking, are you nuts? you already have a dog. Well, you know it runs in the family. When I met Gilbert, he talked about getting a bulldog. Since then I fell in love with the breed. We were able to find a great deal and Gilbert bought me one for Christmas. Here are pictures of the new addition to our family, Maddy!

Random already gets along great with Maddy, and I can tell he is glad to have a playmate. They have been running all over the house together playing. They are so cute. Maddy has a great personality. She loves to play and chew. I have to watch her like a hawk, because I don't want her to chew my furniture. It was hard to get a good picture of her since she has not laid down yet. It looks like it will be a long nite.

Can you feel the Heat?

Gilbert and I went to see the Miami Heat receive their rings on Halloween. This was a very special event as it was the first title for this 18 year old franchise. All the players were excited to receive their 8 carat diamond rings. Clearly their heads were not in the game but focused on the rings they had just received. We are privileged to have witnessed this historical moment. They Heat put on a magnificent display for the ring ceremony. As soon as I figure out how to upload a video, I will show parts of the ceremony. We had a great time even though our team played like garbage.

Happy Halloween!

Gilbert and I went out for Halloween on Saturday night and decided to go in costume. Gilbert did a great job putting his costume together. He even entered the costume contest at the club, he didn't win but is a winner to me. Our friend Jean Max went as Flavor Flav and he made it to the finals but didn't win either. We had a great time.

Surprise!

Gilbert and I went to my favorite store, Target, and picked out this nice area rug for the Living Room. Random already loves it!

Gilbert surprised me this weekend with the candlesticks I wanted for my table. Aren't they nice? Posted by Picasa

Only in Miami

Only in Miami will you live in a city for a little over 2 years and have 5 car accidents. Before I moved to Miami, since I became a driver, I had never had an accident. I moved here in May 2004 and in June, I was rear ended then in December 2004 I was in a bad car accident just one month after I bought a new car. That makes two wrecks so far (please note that none of these accidents are my fault). My car was hit in my apartment complex a couple of months ago, then while my Mom was visiting we got tapped in the back of the car. We are up to four wrecks/accidents now (wrecks sounds so bad and only one of our "wrecks" was bad).

This morning I walked out to leave for work, only to find what you might ask. That's right, some idiot hit our car last night and the kicker is, they stayed parked next to it. Now if you hit a parked car there are two options: 1. be responsible and leave a note with your number or 2. move your car, park somewhere else, and wipe away the evidence. So you can imagine how happy I was to see my car had been hit yet again. To make a long story short, we had to call the police so that we had a claim number for our insurance. The cop was going to file a hit and run but after he sent another cop to the address of the car. The man at this address called his daughter and told her to go out to the car. It was a 20 year old girl, you could still smell the alcohol on her breath and she was as dumb as they get. Well, the good news of this story is I do not have to pay out of my pocket to fix our car.

Adult Furniture

Gilbert and I finally upgraded the last of my college furniture. I am very thankful that I was given furniture while I was in college so I did not have an apartment without furniture, but now that I am a career women I am thankful to have "adult" furniture as I call it. My new dining room table that Gilbert picked out all by himself. I think he did a fantastic job! I did pick out the table runner. It is a little short but I like it a lot.

Once again my husband picked out the coffee table set. Who knew he was an interior designer at heart. He might kill me for saying that but I am very happy I married a man with such good taste. I picked out the decoration on the table. We make a great team!

This is what the end tables look like.
